So your car only has an old sound system with no iPod dock or connection and you are not into what’s playing on the radio and would rather be listening to your music or podcast selection on your iPod. What to do?
Get yourself the new and improved Griffin iTrip Auto Universal Plus, which allows you to play what’s on your iPod wirelessly through the FM radio speakers.
The iTrip Auto comes with a cigarette lighter charger to supply power from your car’s 12-volt lighter outlet.
The big news is that the iTrip is not only for an iPod anymore; it is universal because it works with almost any portable audio device that has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack - yup, a CD player, other MP3, or even a cassette player.
It’s easy to set up and takes mere seconds to tune and set up the iTrip with your compatible music device. Simply plug the MP3 player into the 3.5mm jack end with the other end plugged into the cigarette lighter socket, press the smart scan button on the iTrip and the iTrip will find the strongest FM frequency to broadcast the music device’s content through the car audio system. Once the iTrip shows you what frequency is the best, you simply tune your car radio to that specific frequency and sit back and listen.
 You can also set your own frequency if you prefer and do not have to go with the frequency the iTrip selects for you.
It’s important to note that the sound quality will depend on the FM frequency strength and you might experience some good and bad signals while you are driving around town.
But it’s better than driving around listing to music through earphones, as you’ll still be able to hear what is going on around you in traffic.
