With cellphones evolving so quickly, and now being able to act as an office away from the office and even a banking device, protecting access to it and the data stored on it has become a must-do.
With Kaspersky's Mobile Security 8 software, all that will be taken care of. It offers users of Symbian and Windows Mobile phones the ability to stop thieves from stealing personal data or hack into the phone for whatever reason.
The software is simple to set up from a PC to a cellphone. Everything is installed with just a few quick steps. Users simply have to choose what they want activated and do some personal settings and their minds will be put at ease. Once configured and synced between the PC and the phone, operating the programme is also a breeze. The easy-to-understand menu on your phone, which directs you straight to the options of what you want to do, is a no-brainer.
 Just scroll down to, say, the parental control function and you can quickly set the phone to bar kids or anyone else from communicating with certain people in your contact list. It also allows the user to select pre-approved numbers, so that whoever uses the phone can only communicate with those people.
We also like the option to also block the phone from downloading just any old mobile software, of which there are so many today, helping to keep your phone safe from programmes that might be harmful or unnecessary and simply clog up the memory.
If the phone has a GPS, the software can be set to track the phone wherever it is in the world, so if your kid is using it, you know where they are. If you misplaced it, just track it through the PC and go fetch it. The phone's location, through integration with Google Maps, will be displayed on the map.
It also provides you with an option to have a completely encrypted folder on the phone where you can save information that is for your eyes only. We love the software's ability, through the SIM Watch feature, to delete info on the phone, even when you are not with the phone. You can delete important data remotely off the phone if it is stolen and even when another SIM card has been placed in the device
The software also includes Kaspersky's anti-malware protection and antivirus scanner, which will block most of the common viruses and unwanted malicious software to interfere with the phone or your data stored on it.
