Game Review - Lips

Lip-licking fun
Yet another Lips game for the Xbox 360 has hit South African shelves and Party Classics promises to bring hours of entertainment to any living-room karaoke night.
There is not much of a difference to the game’s basic set-up and controls. The menu items are all still the same, and the track access list has not been remade in any way. Users can continue to choose the long or the short version of a song, which has been one of the game’s strong points since its early releases.
Essentially, Lip’s Party Classics is all about rocking it out and it features some of the best classic rock and pop songs that have ever been released. From Dusty Springfield’s old hit Son of the Preacher Man to the best of Amy Winehouse, this track list will definitely have something to please everyone, except for the die-hard heavy metal junkie.
While there is little in terms of cosmetic changes, Party Classics does use the microphone motion-sensing function better than its predecessor. Striking poses during star stream is still around, but it also gives players new moves, like clapping in time, which will allow them to gain points. You can also now save your star-studded performance and watch it over again, which might be a cool function for some, but I found myself cringing at my own performances.
All in all, the game will not blow you away in terms of look and feel, but the new tweaks and a great song list will make the purchase worthwhile.
