Nintendo DS Pokemon HeartGold Version

Nintendo has updated and re-released its Pokemon Gold game, titled Pokemon HeartGold Version, and it's a fun-filled, challenging game.
Playing on Nintendo's recently released DSi XL game console, it is apparent that the graphics of the title have been greatly improved, but it is still not something that will appeal to hard-core gamers used to high-end renderings of first person shooter games.
As in the traditional Pokemon adventures, you - or rather your character - needs to traverse the land to train and fight, with the ultimate goal of becoming the master trainer. You will have to 'Talk' to as many other characters in the game to get information on what to expect and get helpful tips on what not to do.
Navigating through the game is challenging with what feels like a lot of dead ends, but is just one way of steering you into the right direction. It is one huge feat if you can collect and capture all 493 Pokemons as well as the 16 fighting medals, which is not as easy as one would think. Challenges can be brutal and if you do not keep an eye on your Pokemon's power and good health, you will find it fainting left, right and centre.
Also take note that it will take a lot of time to get through the game. Hours can be spent finding various objects to help you in your quest to become the supreme master, but it is all fun and strangely gratifying when you see your captured Pokemon collection grow.
As a result of the DSi XL's WiFi capability, players can now also play together and interact with other players in the Plaza zone, if you have their player codes. This makes for some interesting game play and conversations.
Also novel is the addition of a Pokewalker or the Tamagotchi, which is also a pedometer which can be pared with the DSi XL and game. As you walk more, your Pokemon becomes friendlier and also builds up more power to be used when you are in duals with the myriad other Pokemons you encounter on your travels through the various levels.
Pokemon HeartGold is an exciting adventure that will keep players engaged for long periods of time. It's perfect for keeping some people out of real trouble.
