The White Wolf returns
The Witcher is a dark fantasy that takes the player on a journey in a gritty setting with Geralt of Rivia, the last famed monster hunter, also known as a witcher. Gifted with supernatural powers and martial art finesse.
What makes this game interesting is that it puts the player in a moral dilemma where he/she has to work through consequences caused by choices made in the game. There are plenty of twists around every corner and nothing is as simple as it appears.

The role-playing game begins with Geralt being tasked to cure the daughter of King Foltest of a curse that has transformed her into a feral monster. The game is expansive and takes around 40 hours to complete, conservatively. It takes the player into a dark and foreboding world, a twisted version of reality and where every choice made in the game leads to different ending to the story.

The WitcherThe gameplay itself has moved away from the simplistic point-and-click RPGs that we’re so used to and instead demands a higher level of combat tactics and fighting styles. Also be prepared to fight off frenzied monsters, demons and pitch-fork- grabbing villagers.

The Witcher, developed by CD Projekt Red Studio and Atari, is based on the book series Wiedzmin by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The game was released in 2007 and two years later, its sequal The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf was suspended. However, the game developers haven’t lost hope and have begun working on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings as it hopes to resurrect the pale, greasy-haired medieval hunter.
