Be coached by Adidas
Theo Boshoff
Adidas has released its miCoach electronic training system to assist consumers to get more out of their training sessions.

Not all of us have the luxury of having a dedicated trainer or coach to help us through all our running sessions, but with the Adidas miCoach Pacer device, accompanying stride sensor and heart rate monitor and a pair of Adidas trainers, everyone can have that personal attention.

The MiCoach, says Adidas, is a personal coaching system that provides users with real-time audio training over a set of headphones. Users can track their heart rate, running pace, distance and stride rate and the miCoach will then create a goal-orientated running programme according to the specific user's figures.

The system also simplifies your coaching strategy through four zones: blue, green, yellow and red. Blue is the energy zone, which helps build a user's aerobics base. The green zone helps users with endurance and is the medium workout session and assists with calorie-burning. They yellow zone is the strength zone that focuses on cardio training, and the red zone is the maximum training setting for power and speed.

The miCoach Pacer device is compatible with an MP3 player, which means a user can get real-time audio feedback even when their MP3 player is plugged into the device and the user is listening to their favourite tracks while training.

After all the information is gathered by your various devices, it can be downloaded to miCoach.com where a user can sync all the information to the miCoach Pacer device to have a more detailed review of your runs. The user can then get put together a better training programme.
