Education seems to be high on Epson’s list of priorities, having just launched a range of ultra-short-throw projectors. There are its first ever focussed specifically on use in the classroom.

The new range of projectors are designed to meet the needs of teachers and students alike. Easy-to-use technology makes them ideal for use in classrooms and educational facilities on standard or interactive whiteboards. With USB plug and play connectivity set up is uncomplicated and there is no need for additional driver support.

The company says the projectors’ capabilities allow for reduced glare and shadow interference on screens. They also produce brighter pictures, with up to 3 000 lumens colour light output, facilitating a better learning experience.

With five projectors in the range, two of which sport built-in interactive capabilities. This means users can turn any projection surface into an interactive surface. This fact, coupled with an interactive pen that allows teachers to make notes on the screen during a session will certainly make teaching easier.

Kelvin Reynolds, general manager at Epson Southern Africa, says some of these projectors also include built-in speakers. Twin this capability with the ability to plug in a microphone, and lessons in a large classroom or lecture theatre can be broadcast. With wired and wireless capabilities teachers can go even further, and broadcast the lesson over the network to other classrooms.

If you’re a teacher or concerned parent let the powers that be know about Epson’s new range of projectors. This interactive classroom experience is set to engage the interest of children and learners of all ages, and could make the difference between your children becoming a common labourer or a company MD.
