A football of
another kind
By Theo Boshoff
Telecoms network solutions provider Huawei has just launched its F@stLink E2010 Football Modem for MTN.
And yes, it is in the shape of a football, but not just any football, it is a replica of the Jabulani ball, which is the official football to be used at the FIFA World Cup 2010, and it’s all done because MTN is such a big sponsor of the event.
Not only might the novelty of the shape and 2010 World Cup connotation be attractive, but the modem also sports some great functionality and features, such as operating on a variety of frequencies such as HSUPA/HSDPA/UMTS 2100MHz; Edge/GPRS/GSM 1900/1800/900/850MHz.
It also offers HSUPA uplink speeds of up to 5.76Mbps and downlink speeds of up to 7.2Mbps, feature an added Micro SD slot to add external storage capacity and is completely plug and play, with SMS services enabled.
It does not matter if you are a pre-paid or contract customer, because the modem will be available on both packages.
So, if you want a nice 2010 souvenir as well as a faster modem at the same time, it might not be such a bad idea to get yourself one of MTN’s new F@stLink E2010 Jabulani football modems.
