Fujitsu unveils new
T Series Tablet PCs
By Theo Boshoff
PC maker Fujitsu has unveiled what it calls the “ultimate notebooks for the true road warrior”, the LIFEBOOK T730 and LIFEBOOK TH700, now including optional built-in GPScapability.
The devices, apart from the optional GPS, also feature embedded 3G/UMTS, WLAN and Bluetooth offering more mobile connectivity options to users who travel constantly.
The new Tablet PCs feature 12.1-inch touchscreens in a light and compact design. They feature Intel’s 2010 Core Processors and fast SSD hard disk drives with enough memory to cope with complex applications.
The devices also feature Windows 7 multiple touch technology, a built-in DVD drive, a Blu-ray Disc combo drive or a second hard disk drive, as well as a second battery.
The company says though there is a second battery pack included, the single battery pack will already be enough to last users an entire work day.
The new GPS option will also ensure that users can connect and make use of the growing number of location-based services being offered today, for those who do not stay in one place for long.
Both new PCs offer biometric logon and, says the company, “the LIFEBOOK T730 also offers data encryption via an optional TPM (Trusted Platform Module).”
A subscription-based Advanced Theft Protection service, offering remote locking and data to be erased, including finding the device through the incorporated GPS, is also available for those who are interested. |
