G Connect Free connection for a year
By Theo Boshoff
The guys from G Connect, who offer the WirelessG service, and Core, the guys representing Apple locally, have signed an exclusive agreement whereby consumers who buy an iPod Touch from the Apple store will get free WiFi access for a full year.

Buyers of an iPod Touch, costing approximately R2 000, will receive free WiFi connectivity at almost 1 500 locations countrywide to the minimum of 100MB per month, which relates to about 1.2GB of free WiFi access over the one-year period, valued at R588.

The monthly 100MB data can be carried over to the next month if it or part of it is not used. The top-up happens automatically each month and users will receive an e-mail and SMS confirmation when this has happened.

According to Carel van der Merwe, WirelessG CEO, vouchers offered with this promotion are redeemable in conjunction with the company's standard, super weekend and happy-hour WiFi rates of 49c, 45c and 35c per MB respectively.

1 year free wi-fi

The WirelessG WiFi service acts as an aggregator whereby users are able to connect to a multitude of wireless networks from various suppliers around South Africa, holding a single G Connect or WirelessG account.
