Print anywhere, anytime
By Theo Boshoff
HP has introduced a new way of printing documents through the internet using any e-mail-capable or web-connected device to any HP printer anywhere in the world with HP ePrint.
According to the company, ePrint will allow users to store documents or files in the cloud and print when needed, transforming printers into publishing platforms from which they can customise print apps, such as news and creative after-school activities, directly to their home or business printer.
This, the company, says will give users the power to manage and customise their full printing experience
HP also revealed a full range of web-empowered e-All-in-One printers for home and business use with prices starting at R999.
Every ePrint printer, says HP, will have a unique e-mail address that allows the sender to deliver a print the same way they would send an e-mail message and with the mobile application, they’ll be able to send something to be printed at home or any public print location, such as the closest hotel.
HP says users will be able to print Microsoft Office documents, Adobe PDFs and JPEG images through this system.
It is unclear how users will be charged for printing at these various places, such as the hotel, but we guess the hotel or whatever place users sent their print work to, will be able to make their own prices per page, as is currently the case for printing locally at a chosen venue.
