Bull gets backing
By Theo Boshoff
If you like Samsung and you like the Vodacom Blue Bulls, then you will be happy to hear the two have teamed up, with Samsung decided to sponsor the team. That’s right, Samsung is now the official electronics sponsor to the Bulls for the next three years.
We wonder if this move was so that the success of the Bulls could rub off on Samsung, as the Bulls won the Super 14 last year and are well on their way to successfully defend that title again this year.
KK Park, CEO of Samsung Electronics South Africa, says that the Bulls’ proud history of success is perfectly aligned with Samsung’s organisational philosophy.
Apart from looking after the team’s electronic needs, Samsung will also be donating Samsung products for the two Bulls Development Houses situated at Loftus Versfeld. These houses are groups of development players aged between 18 and 20.
These youths were identified for their great potential and receive proper training, nutrition and medical attention as part of the Vodacom Bulls High Performance Centre training initiative.
According to Park, Samsung is committed to supporting initiatives that give back to the community and, believing that sports can bring a nation together, it was a good idea to enter into this sponsorship.
