Sony Ericsson is bringing out two more Walkman phones, called the Zylo and Spiro, which the company says will be more affordable Walkman handsets for the entry-level consumer.

However, these phones, says the company, go a step further than just being a Walkman phone. They also bring music and social networking functionality closer together.

Users will be able to continue listening to their favourite tracks at the same time as updating their Facebook pages or chatting with friends on Twitter or posting pics on Flickr.

As with previous models of the Walkman phones, the Zylo and Spiro also feature TrackID, which allows users to record part of a music track they want to know more about, send it to a server, which will reply with all the details about the band and the track. Standard is also the PlayNow function to shop in the music store from wherever, whenever.

The phones also come preloaded, with what some people might call gimmicky stuff, like everyday sounds, such as that of an office environment, street environment or sounds from a restaurant, which can be played in the background while you do whatever you do on your phone.

The phones are also the first to support the new FLAC format files, which, according to the company, deliver the best sound quality on mobile phones ever.
