 Cool it!

We all know that one of the biggest issues PC makers face is keeping the innards of your computer cool so that it functions at optimal levels. And how many stories have you heard about people burning their laps working on a laptop.
Well, Spectrum Multimedia is bringing the new USB-powered Belkin Cooling Pad to you to solve that problem. According to the company, the Cooling Pad features a patent-pending AirFlow Wing design with stellar cooling performance.
Says Shane Kennedy, Belkin product manager at Spectrum Multimedia: “Overheating reduces laptop life expectancy and can affect the motherboard, causing the computer to work harder and run slower. It also affects the reliability of your laptop as a result of reduced conductivity due to extensive heat.”
Belkin apparently designed the airflow system around a patented wave shape and what it says is a smart convection design to optimise the circulation of hot air away from the laptop.
Belkin also says that this wave design can be effectively used either on a desk or on a lap, able to accommodate laptops of up to 15.4 inches in size, safely and comfortably.
The cooling fan is positioned directly under the CPU, drawing heat away from the source, which also eliminates the build-up of heat as well as directing the heat away from the battery
 The USB cable that is included, says Kennedy, can be easily stored in a compartment built in to the cooling desk, making transporting the device more economical. It also fits into a laptop bag.
The gentle sloped curvature of the design, he notes, makes typing more comfortable and reduces wrist strain while heightening the level of the screen to reduce neck starin.
