Kinect pricing announced
By Theo Boshoff
Xbox 360 fans have been eagerly awaiting the local pricing announcement for Microsoft’s new Kinect gesture control sensor, and it is finally here.
The company has revealed that the Kinect sensor (Kinect Adventures) for existing Xbox 360 owners will sell for an estimated retail price of R1 999.99 locally. The sad thing is that it is almost double the price for which it is available in the US.
The company also announced that there will be a special bundled package, which includes an Xbox 360 4GB console, the Kinect sensor and “Kinect Adventures”, all packaged together at an estimated retail price of R3 699.99.
The new Xbox 360 4GB console alone will be available for an estimated R2 399.99 and will be shipping from August 20 in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
According to Microsoft, more than 15 games are scheduled to be released when the new Xbox 360 goes on sale. Games will sell for around R400 each.
Certain retailers are already taking pre-booking orders for the Xbox 360 Kinect Console Bundle and the Kinect for Xbox.
