For a while now HP has taken the top spot in the technology company race, but now there is a new leader, as Samsung has overtaken HP for 2009 sales.

For those who really care about the financials, Samsung’s revenue in 2009 was $117.8 billion, beating HP’s $114.6 billion. Apparently, and according to forecasts and predicted sales for 2010, Samsung will stay in the lead for another year, with Samsung’s predicted sales of $127 billion topping HP’s
$120 billion.

Samsung says it will be focussing on its memory chip manufacturing as well as its LCD business this year and it expects to sell 35 million LCD TVs in 2010. It is also aiming for ten million LED TVs and two million 3D TVs sales this year.
