UNWIND: Q&A

Ashlley HaydenQ&A: Jolandé Duvenage
New CEO of eBucks

Q: Do all eBucks customers make use of online banking?

A: Certainly a significant number of our members also use FNB’s online banking and for this reason we recently added an eBucks tab to the FNB Online Banking page enabling members to shop straight off the FNB platform.

Q: How does PayPal and eBucks integrate, if at all?

A: The eBucks Innovation team drove the PayPal implementation. However, at this stage, there is no integration between eBucks and PayPal, but we are always looking at ways to leverage the strength of our virtual currency.

Q: How can you earn the maximum amount of eBucks? Any tips?

A: Members should always remember to “double dip” – if you pay at a retail partner using an FNB or RMB Private Bank Card, you earn from both partners. You also accelerate your earn with the FNB earn booster, which you get if you have a home loan or One Account as well as a credit card or cheque account with FNB. For people who are multi-banked, remember to rather swipe your FNB card than one of the other banks as that way you will earn eBucks faster. Make sure you upgrade or take out a new contract with Nashua Mobile – they give you up to ten percent of your bill back in eBucks. And when you do your shopping, go to one of our retail partners!

Q: What are the most popular products being bought on ebucks.com?

A: Airtime and vouchers are the perennial favourites.

Q: Why couldn't you buy World Cup tickets with eBucks?

A: Fifa's ticket application process was designed with all consumers in mind and is therefore not tailored to include FNB's eBucks rewards programme. However, FNB customers who are registered to earn eBucks will do so when using their visa cards to pay for tickets.

Q: What was the last thing you bought with your eBucks?

A: My eBucks served as a part payment for flight tickets to Australia.

Q: What is your biggest challenge as the new CEO of eBucks?

A: Ensuring that eBucks remains an industry leader.
