UNWIND: Q&A

Q:  What is your favourite gadget at the moment
and why?

A: I’d have to say my 13” MacBook Pro. I know gadgets are meant to be small devices, but at 13”, I’d say it’s ideal and not bulky. I love it because it accommodates all my requirements, whether its work or play. Everything just works.

Q: Why Mac and not a PC?

A: I’ve used a PC for more than 15 years. I’ve tried a fair amount of Windows versions and eventually got sick of it all. I wanted the alternate. I wanted cool and stylish. I call it the natural evolution.

Q: So are you everything Apple, i.e. iPod and iPhone too?

A: I own an iPod Shuffle (used mostly when I’m travelling) but not an iPhone. Well, not yet anyway. I’m currently using the Nokia N97, which does what it needs to. I think I’ve reached a point where I no longer need to own the latest phone with all the new features. I’m not big on doubling up my phone as a GPS either. I’d be happy to own an iPhone next.

Q: What gadget is on the top of your wishlist and why?

A: I’ve been wanting a Wacom Bamboo tablet for a while now. I like drawing and doodling and think this would be ideal for me since I spend a lot of time on my Mac. But before the tablet, I want an HD LCD TV.

Q: Which gadget in your opinion has revolutionised the world?

A: In recent times, I’d say e-book readers, like the Amazon Kindle. Although personally I’m not a fan, as I prefer reading books the old-fashioned way. One no longer has to walk into a bookstore and browse for books before purchasing. I think e-book readers are convenient but have taken the fun away from going to a bookstore.
