Q: News or Twitter updates for breaking news? Which do you value more?

A: We use all sources for breaking news, including our wire services, Twitter, phone calls, user tips and word of mouth. We aim to be in the results for breaking news in Google News rather than relying on it as a source of information.

Q: Do you think sensationalism sells? Do you feel you need to cater to what your readers want?

A: No doubt people love sensationalism. Our audience loves politics but if there's a hint of sex, we'll take it, thanks.

Q: What piece of technology is your office away from the office?

A: At the moment, my BlackBerry because the MTN edge network is more reliable than the Vodacom 3g network and the bb battery is better than the iPhone battery.

Q: If you owned the patent to any gadget, what would it be and why?

A: Mobile phones, billions to be made.

Q: What are your thoughts on the iPhone 4? Over-hyped?

A: iPhone 4 looks magnificent. I want one but, yes, it’s overhyped.

Q: What gadget are you secretly lusting after?

A: The iPad
