Q&A: Sasha Martinengo :
5FM Radio DJ
Q: In the DJ world, is there any form of technology that you have to look out for or be up-to-date with, software included?
A: I think as a DJ and broadcaster, it is essential to be as up to date as possible. Whether I am travelling the country or around the world I really need to make sure I have contact with essential people as well as knowledge about what is going on around the world. In terms of software, I always like to try to have the most recent software available.
Q: What mobile phone do you use and does it effectively double up as a mobile office solution?
A: I use the Sony Ericsson X2 and am eagerly awaiting the X10, which I think is going to be superb. The X2 is a mini notebook and I can do anything on it that I need to except rip a CD.
Q: Mobile apps. What is your most used app and which would you say are your top five?
A: I use so many but my favourites are Skype, Twitter, GPS, and Google Maps.
Q: What do you think about mapping software on cellphones? How useful do you think it is, especially with the World Cup around the corner?
A: I think it’s great. I have it on mine but, to be honest, the device is a bit small. I prefer an original mapping software unit like a Tom Tom or a Garmin.
Q: You’re mad about cars. What are your thoughts on every car coming standard with USB ports?
A: I think standard USB ports are a brilliant idea for cars nowadays but I must say that I think all cars should come with Bluetooth first.
Q: Do you think extras in a car like an iPod dock impacts on the driving experience of a car or enhances it?
A: I suppose it depends what car you drive but having an iPod with a gazzillion songs is perfect for me because I am completely ADHD with my music and usually will go through all the songs before I reach my destination.
