How Altech Autopage saves cost

We all love them. Those cheerful people who phone us with yet another wonderful promotion by some bank of cellphone service provider.
Today was the turn of Altech Autopage.
Apparently they have this great new cost saving deal that they want to offer me. I told them that I already have two contract with Vodacom and wouldn’t be interested. Then they just ended the call...
a) There was no trying to convince me to hear them out
b) There was no goodbye
c) niks, nothing, nada
The lady simply put the phone down in my ear!
Now I know that there are people who apply the same actions when receiving a sales call from one of these call centres. Yes it is rude but understandable considering the amount of call we get from these companies.
But...
When you are calling on behalf of a company you effectively represent them. You cannot apply the same actions. Altech Autopage just lost my respect, even if they didn’t make the phone call. The assigned a call centre to do their telemarketing and the staff of this company is letting them down.
OR
Maybe this is how they save cost on phone calls, just slam the phone down!
