Online Social Suicide

Definition: Committing and act or acts that alienates one from their social scene or social circle; to kill one’s social life.
Would I? I’ve certainly considered it at some key points in my “online life.” Be it out of pure frustration with technological related hang ups (broken pc/laptop, slow net connections, etc) or just a general feeling of “being there but not quite.” (being in touch with so many people, without actual physical interaction. Yeah its my own saying, I’m brilliant, I know) Then again, that feeling goes hand in hand with a deep desire that creeps up every once in a while: A longing to just pack up the city lifestyle, or dare I say “modern” lifestyle; to live in a tiny wood cabin somewhere in the mountains and live of the land… Maybe one day.
While I’m still living in the land of PC and the home of the sound wave, no social suicide on the cards for me. I have way too many accounts out there, some which disappeared into the depths of obscurity. The closest I got was deleting my Lavalair.net profile once. Its a wap site, I was admin and after a huge fight with the owner of the site, I deactivated my account. Took them forever to re-install my 4000+ posts… (Don’t worry Ra’ed, I’ve long since forgiven you for that fight. Lmao)
Just looking at my LiveWriter screen now, proves that deleting all traces of myself on the web would be a laborious task. Why? The blogs that are connected to LW include:
MyDigitalLife Lifestyle Blogs The Shackled Muse (my own site) The Shackled Muse (my livejournal site. This is where my blogging started) Project Fat Free Muse (a blogger account which I’m using to keep track of my weight loss goals until I can afford another domain.) And some unknown anonymous blog, the details and location will not be disclosed.
