Website review: Click
to give
Tallulah Habib
Giving is easy
Giving of your own time and money for charity can seem like a bit of a pain, which is why the Click to Give series of sites is so wonderful: you're expected to give neither.
The sites raise money for a number of charities through a simple Cost per Click system. Visit the site: Hunger, Breast Cancer, Child Health, Literacy, Rainforest or Animal Rescue. On the site you will see a button reading “Click to give”.
If you click on the button, it will direct you to another page filled with charity-related advertising. These advertisers pay for the views that come through your clicking, and that money goes to the charity.
There is other advertising on both pages too, selling merchandise. The proceeds from these will also go to the charity. You can also find information on petitions and groups you can join to support your cause.
If you want more information about what you are supporting, there are tabs down the site of each site filled with stories and info such as “mammogram guidelines”, “rescued animal stories” and “teacher resources”.

Hidden among those tabs you can also find “Games that give” - games provided for free containing advertising, a good way to fight for your cause and have fun at the same time. Unfortunately, they are currently only available inside the United States, but hopefully will go international soon.
The sites are all linked by a line of tabs at the top of the page, making it easy to click every charity every day.
Locally there is a similar site, called Barking Mad (http://www.barkingmad.co.za/), which works on the same principle and helps to feed dogs. So what are you waiting for? Get clicking. |
