Jango has your
music covered
Simone Peinke
The food is cooked to perfection, the conversation is flowing much like the delectable red wine and that recently purchased French café CD is providing the perfect background music to your dinner party – for about half an hour. The CD ends, as does your collection of pleasant background tracks.
The conversation tapers off, as you excuse yourself to quickly scramble through your music collection before Rihanna comes belting from your living room. Hardly appropriate.
It’s in moments like these that many of us wish we had our own personal DJ sustaining the ambiance.
Jango.com offers the next best thing. This website allows users to construct their own playlist from a wide selection of popular artists. The site then finds songs of a similar nature that are automatically added to your playlist. This means that you will not have to worry about your husband's Black Sabbath collection finding its way into your Norah Jones playlist.
The site is easy to navigate, and provides information, pictures and videos of all your favourite artists. The only downfall is, at times, users may not want Jango to select songs to add to your playlist, as the songs chosen may not reflect your music tastes despite being considered similar to those on your playlist. However, they do rarely miss the mark.

For the most part, Jango will ensure that at least one aspect of your dinner party will run smoothly – the music. All you need to worry about is setting up a playlist, choosing your favourite songs, and not overcooking the roast.
